(edited) Coming to the tail-end of a 50K-word industrial heritage project (a Bavarian mining museum near the Austrian border). Then it's back to my bread and butter legal and financial work, before another large mining museum project starts at the end of the month. It's a great side niche and it's even greater to have established a reputation in this area. 1 user Although I focus on law and finance with lots of experience in IT and pharma too, a few years ago I used my technical knowledge and love of history to do a huge project for the re-opening of Germany's largest mining museum, the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Mining Museum in Bochum. This has established my reputation in industrial heritage, and I'm back down the mines again, this time for the Bergbaumuseum Achthal in Bavaria. Although smaller (approx. 50,000 words this time), it's been interesting. I almost finished here, but a third mining heritage project awaits at the end of October. White collar, blue collar, black collar work :) Just finished a 10k word gaming licence decision issued in Germany. Administrative Law throughs up some challenging terminology and phrasing but it seems to take my translation skills to another level .. in other words, everything seems easy after that :) 1 user Just finished a 6k pharmaceutical job: a contract manufacturing agreement in the nuclear medicine field. Swiss German to US English. Lots of legislation to research but I enjoyed the challenge. Now got 2 more pharma jobs (surveys of medical professionals) before it's over to company formation and IT tomorrow. Busy week! Just finished approx. 9000 words of executive board minutes for a global financial undertaking. .. Inside 24 hours .... Not my usual daily volume but made possible by help from a proactive PM and years of experience in the field. Time to relax. Just finished post-editing a new website for an e-Cargo bike start-up. Glad to have added some linguistic flair to a great environmentally-friendly product! 1 user My NDA allows me to say that I am working on the German>English translation of a magazine article featuring the end client, and published in DER AKTIONÄR (Germany's largest weekly business and finance magazine). Just 2000 words, still it demands a good understanding of financial matters combined with an ability to produce a well-readable target text - it's the kind of work I really love!
(edited) Just completed a summary of a pharma marketing survey. About to start a large marketing and information project for a prestigious museum and research institution in Germany. Challenging but extremely interesting work. Wish me luck :) 1 user In the pharmaceutical realm today. Translating a 2.5k word physician survey summary. 1 user A management board remuneration statement for the annual financial statement of a large German-based corp. Annual financial statement and management report for a German tech company. 5K words from a returning customer :) I've recently completed a translation for the Evermask website. A great initiative during the Covid-19 pandemic! https://evermask.de/en/ A short online page for 13th Street Shocking Short - a prize for short horror movies ... scary!!
