Does anybody know if it is it possible to transfer a PDF file into a word document?

I have tried cutting and pasting the text, but the whole formatting was lost.

I need suggestions urgently...

Thank you!

I know 2 solutions Oct 2, 2002

1. If you buy the real Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader), you can save the pdf file in rft format.

2. If you buy Omnipage Pro, you can import the pdf file and save it for Word.

But in both cases, you still have to do some (re)formating work...

Good luck.

Not only OnmiPage Oct 2, 2002

Just to mention that OmniPage isn\'t the only software that allows this. There are others, equally as good for the purpose and for less expensive.

some clarifying notes Oct 2, 2002

The \"real\" Acrobat is the full version of the Adobe software, which allows reading, editing and making of PDF documents from any other document.

Omnipage is optical character recognition (OCR) software. That is, you scan the document (PDF, fax printout etc.) and allow the software to transform it to Word format. OCR software comes (or should come) with every scanner you buy.

If the text layout is simple (no tables and graphics) than the job is relative

If the text layout is simple (no tables and graphics) than the job is relatively simple. If it isn\'t, well... there is a lot of formatting work ahead of you.

Why don\'t you search the forum for entries containg \"PDF\" and \"Word\" - there have been numerous discussions on this topic recently.

look at this site:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_email.html

You\'ll get your pdf text in text or HTML format, loadable with Word.

Hallo Oct 3, 2002

Wordfast does it, though not perfectly.

First oper the PDF file, then go to Word and start your translation session. It will automatically convert the document.

finereader 6.0 should do that Oct 3, 2002

OCR called Finereader 6.0 does that conversion through OCR.

Since the quality of OCR is very high you\'ll probably have all formatting retained including colour pictures.
