Dear everyone,
A journalist aquaintance of mine requests assistance with his research project on translations of Brazillian songs. Please see his e-mail below for details. Any assistastance or advice you can offer will be highly appreciated.
Replies can be sent either to me or directly to Mr Paim. His e-mail addresses are as follows:
I'm a brazilian journalist and I'm writing an article about brazilian songs which have a version in another language. Only songs with quality, which rhythm doesn't matter. The idea is to motivate a discussion about the process of translation and adaptation.
I have already found a lot of examples, but no songs from Africa. I'm writing to you because of it.
This articlie is for Itaú Cultural, an Institut in Brazil that works with culture und art. They make a magazine called "Continuum", which is sent by mailing. You can read also in internet: www.itaucultural.org.br/continuum. It's monthly and each edition has a different subject. For May the subject is languages.
I need to send the article until the end of April. So I have still time, if you have something to send to me.
