English term

always follow through with every shot

English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Military / Defense Hunting

As for me, I put so much emphasis on proper hold of the rifle and proper check weld. I take mental note as to the position of my cheek, relative to the rifle butt before and after the trigger was squeezed and make sure to repeat them at every shot. Breathing is only secondary - at least for me. I learned early, how to hold my breath at longer period, under water. ***Always follow through with every shot***. Take your time and practice, practice, practice.

Muchas gracias por la ayuda.

Discussion

Richard Boulter Apr 15, 2009:
Follow-through vs. follow-up. These English terms are related in my mind, but I doubt that the usual translation of 'follow-up', 'seguimiento', is appropriate here. 'Follow-up' is used in interpersonal relations like business management to mean (figuratively) 'to continue a process with additional actions'. 'Follow-through' is conceptually the same, in more-literal physical motions, but it seems that another term would apply in Spanish. I suggest reading some golfing instructions in Spanish, where completing the forestroke and rotating the heel after the ball is hit seems so important as 'follow-through'.

Siguiendo siempre esta rutina con cada disparo.

Es una sugerencia, yo lo entiendo así.

agree Richard Boulter : Yes, 'follow through' = 'complete the entire routine of technique' for every shot. Need a common-usage term for this in Spanish, from shooting & other sports. Used literally most often in golf, where the actions after ball-contact affect shot accuracy.
