Spanish term

poner a incidencia un cráneo

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) poner a incidencia un cráneo

You have to take a deep breath to go through this paragraph, or run the risk of running out of it in the middle of the sentence. Not a single punctuation mark!!

it is not only about effecting [or making, creating] a skull or photograph [picture]

This one is a real challenge! The fun stuff!

Based on the context this appears to be referring to something along the lines of forensic facial reconstruction.

Translating dynamically this is what I understand the paragraph to say:

"[In] the study of the metric measurements and distances obtained from the anatomical points of the face while it is very important to keep in mind the unique characteristics of the face or skull, it is not only about effecting [or making, creating] a skull or photograph [picture], but evaluating the previously mentioned indicators since much symmetry already exists that will help provide a positive identification."

"Incidencia" according to the Real Academia Española is "influencia o repercusión,"and its translations according to Word Reference is "impact, effect, incidence." Therefore, "poner a incidencia" could be translated as "put/make an effect/influence."

Within my understanding of the context the writer/teacher/lecturer is pointing out that this facial reconstruction is not just about getting something done but about doing it well and carefully. It appears to be an ethical/moral sentiment being added to the teaching.

This might not be exactly what you were looking for, but hopefully it will give you some ideas. I could very easily be entirely wrong depending on the context of the entire document being translated, but you would be the one best able to decide.

Good luck!
