French term

en gaz

French to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Construction excavators and loaders
This term appears in the pre-delivery test procedures for excavators and loaders such as those used in the construction industry. The term in cuestion appears once for one of the tests, under the heading for the machine set-up ("machine" here refers to the excavator/loader being tested)

ESSAIS EN SITUATION DE TRAVAIL :

- Platine d’essais
- Machine posée sur la lame
- Climatisation ON si machine équipée

I am thinking that "en gaz" could be "fuelled". Is this correct?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Interesting, though a refrigerant "gas" spends at least half its life as a liquid!
Carlos Segura (asker) Dec 17, 2012:
To Chris Collister Chris, thank you for your thoughts. However, the client later advised that they mean "air conditioning system filled with coolant gas". We didn't think of that one, did we?
chris collister Dec 14, 2012:
Obvious? Well, maybe, though "gas" only means liquid fuel in the US. Also, tyres filled with air at high pressure are significantly heavier than empty ones, so I'm guessing that the machine in question is "ready to go"

Your own suggestion actually seems quite obvious to me.

Gert, thank you for your contribution. However, the client finally advised that this means here "air conditioning system filled with coolant gas". We live and learn!
