Spanish term

se suscita contienda

Spanish to English Social Sciences Law (general) Estatus civil
Part of the same section as already posted. Spanish text, going into British English.

(My draft so far: "(The value of ) / Possession of the status as an ancillary title of evidence, in the absence of registration in the Civil Registry Office or **in the event of dispute/contention** before the Courts, is recognised by law.

Here is the text that comes before this part.

Thanks for your help, everybody I went with my original idea, tweaked to match DLyons suggestion 'in the event of any disputes".

Thanks to you both! For confirming what I thought. Not an area I work in usually so I need to tread carefully :)
