español al inglés Negocios/Finanzas Finanzas (general) Annual Report
Thank you for any help, my problem is the use of "efectos" as a noun (in UK English).

This is the text, referring to a banks economic stability: Las comisiones netas generadas por prestación de servicios de cobros y pagos, fundamentalmente por efectos, tarjetas de crédito y débito, órdenes de pago y efectos; y también las generadas por operaciones de avales y por servicios de valores; así como por la comercialización de seguros, fondos de inversión y pensiones, y productos financieros especializados se han incrementado un 21% ascendiendo a 128,9 millones de euros.

I have chosen two options and included them with a note in my translation and I am leaving this open for others to vote on the best option, as I honestly am not able to decide. I really do appreciate your help and hope you all understand why I have done as I have.

Billh Jun 6, 2015:
Eileen on thinking about it it could make sense. I can order my bank to make a payment or order it to issue a bank draft (check) which would fit the context (a bank draft is a bill, or bill of exchange). Were it me I would put what I suggest and say nothing. Problem with these bullet type lists is that there is no surrounding context. For what it's worth.......
Eileen Brophy (asker) Jun 6, 2015:
I have translated it and included a comment Billh, telling them that even other professional translators do not understand the context. Thank you again for your help everyone <3 <3
Billh Jun 6, 2015:
Eileen sometimes I find you just have to go literal if all else fails. I hate translating anything without really understanding what I am translating. But we have to move on. I would put orders for bills and payment and if the bank complains (which they won't I assure you) just tell them to make their reports more comprehensible....
Eileen Brophy (asker) Jun 6, 2015:
Not Clear That is why I posted my question Billh :0-(( It is not at all clear.
Billh Jun 6, 2015:
Andres the problem though is that we seem to be talking about "orders". It really is not clear
David Hollywood Jun 6, 2015:
I would say that this is worded by people who assume everyone else knows what it means ... hence the difficulty

sounds like bank documentary collections Collections - INTRUST Bank

An international collection is basically the same as a domestic collection. A bank, acting as an agent of the drawer of a draft, the payee of a check, or the holder of a promissory note or other negotiable instrument, presents the item to the maker/drawee for payment. When the parties (the payer and payee) are some distance apart, banks working together as agents will act as collector and remitter.
Eileen Brophy (asker) Jun 6, 2015:
Those who specialise in numbers do not always write well Billh.... that may be the reason?
Billh Jun 6, 2015:
This seems to me a bit odd. ??Banco March

in this context I would say it refers to cash ... normally "efectos" could be translated as "instruments" but here think it just means cash

a way to get around it might be to say "other instruments"
