Claudication is a halt, limp or lameness in a person's walk.
It's caused by a lack of blood circulation to the knee area and hence a lack of oxygen to the knee which causes pain during exercise. It affects the distance that a patient is able to walk. Pain usually decreases during rest, though it varies from patient to patient, depending on tiredness, weight, speed of walking and calabre. The corporal area affected by pain on walking or other exercise indicates the muscular area where oxygen fails to be enough from circulation.
