Your version is not really wrong bu I would add some definite articles.

: Looks okay to me too! It is a matter of choice really, but if the asker wanted to put "the" in between "membranes of" and "eyes", it would be fine, but it is really not essential. Jack´s version too would be okay as well with the three "the's". Saludos.

: As a native English speaker, I have to disagree. Even in a technical text, you'd want the definite article before "eyes," at the very least (and "mucuous membranes" too). Also, if your translation is for a US audience, you don't need a "u" in "Vapors".
