a watch movement

The world of watchmaking has heartily welcomed an extraordinary Cricket Anniversary Automatic Calendar watch, manufactured by the Vulcain brand. The most striking thing about this novelty is its famous alarm movement, Cricket Calibre V-22, composed of 257 individual parts.
Studded with 23 rubies, the Cricket Calibre V-22 operates at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve...The caliber animates the functions of hours, minutes, central seconds and date, as well as the brand’s emblematic alarm function.

agree Jennifer Levey : It could hardly refer to anything other than watchmaking if 'Le Locle' appears in the source text.

I thought it related to the accurate timing of the sport of cricket, but it may be the noise of the alarm which may sound like a cricket (the beetle) when it calls by rubbing its legs together.
