What does fitted and solved here mean? Any links to a pertinent statistical (?) page?
Thanks.
Context:
% Difference Between Fitted and Solved Maximum Values
Standard:
"A" Value from hBNP curve
"B" Value from hBNP curve
"C" Value from hBNP curve
"D" Value from hBNP curve
Solved Max. Value:
Y = ((A-D)/(1+(800/C)¨´B))+D
% Difference = (D-Solved Max.)/D ¡ä 100
(¡Ü 9.0%)
Sample:
"A" Value from hBNP curve
"B" Value from hBNP curve
"C" Value from hBNP curve
"D" Value from hBNP curve
Solved Max. Value:
Y = ((A-D)/(1+(800/C)¨´B))+D

Values obtained from graphical analysis (below) or from solving the equation numerically.
I think "fitted" comes from solving the equation (or system of equations) graphically - i.e. finding coordinates of intersection point of the two (or more) curves.
This value is approximate.
Solved is,of course, an exact value that you get when you solve an equation (or a system of equations).
These values are later compared in your text to see whether graphical analysis (finding the intersection coordinates) works OK - or for other purpose.
"Fitted" may also involve approximation - i.e. sin(x)=x if x is very small, very close to zero (the only one I remember now, there's actually a huge array of approximations - especially in engineering, these guys just don't like pure math! :-)
Good luck!

Here you can find a.o. curve fitting and some other 'curve' terms.
(It appeared to me that there is a 'fitted .. value' and a 'solved ... maximum value')
Maybe usefull: http://www.curvefit.com/
