English term

a traditional church environment

English Art/Literary Religion follow-up after an evangelistic crusade
The new converts should be contacted by the local churches as quickly as possible following the crusade. They will have to be encouraged to come to church. They may feel uncomfortable in ***a traditional church environment***. Someone will have to reassure them, affirm them, encourage them, and, if necessary, walk with them through their growth process.

Traditional refers to "environment" (the typical atmosphere of churches in general) or to "church" (an old Christian denomination, i. e. non-pentecostal)?

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

I believe both in this case.

If you are a newcomer (i.e. new converts), one would be at a loss to what to do when they enter a church. One must learn the manners, from rules for praying to even what kind of clothes one should wear (a proper attire for visiting the house of God). And then one should learn the different procedures for denominations, such as a Baptist Church or a Catholic Church, since I believe the way sermons are conducted differ slightly. And these procedures should be learnt by someone who will teach the new converts how to behave and have a proper faith in a holy place by reassuring them, affirming them, encouraging them, and, if necessary, walking with them through their growth process.

agree Robert Kleemaier : 'traditional' can vary enormously depending on the denomination and the style (charismatic to orthodox & vv)

neutral Yasutomo Kanazawa : Sorry, Constantinos, you have explained the source English phrase in Spanish and I'm sure Ana may understand better, but this is a monolingual question.

the church itself

This is a reference to the environament/atmostphere of any given church. Some are more traditional than others. You are on the right track, thinking in terms of denominations and tendencies within those denominations to adhere to traditional forms or worship as opposed to a more contemporary approach.

house of worship environment

it doesn't necessarily have to mean an outright church but can slao mean a place of worship with traditional ornaments (e.g. altar, statues) associated with the respective religion
