intermediate to acidic composition
just to clarify, in igneous rocks, the terms acid/acidic and basic do not refer to pH, as would be the case for salts, etc.; in other words, it has nothing to do with acidity in a chemical sense, but refers to the amount of silica or SiO2 content overall, so we have acid/acidic, intermediate, basic (or mafic, i.e. high in Mg and Fe), and ultrabasic (or ultramafic, very high in Mg, Fe, and very low in SiO2)

There are basic, neutral, and acidic salts (from the point of pH level). But "intermediate salt" sounds non-specific in relation to pH level.
