: that's how I see it too - and the text says that any kind of "stud" etc can penetrate more than these 4cm, hence it is a "nominal" or "minimal" depth or, alternatively "thickness"

: Yeah, I think this is the one! Mike seems to have missed that his first sample text is actually "nominal adhesive strength" of a coating, not a "nominal coating". Merry Christmas!
