I would like to congratulate all of my Spanish colleagues for their national team's well-deserved success in the Euro 2008. Best regards, Çağdaş

I adored your goalkeeper tonight. He was flying like a squirrel on treetops! Well deserved victory. Even though you missed several opportunities for a higher score, your football is as handsome as your footballers Gracías por la fiesta!

Felicitaciones España! | Jun 30, 2008 |
As many have already said, it was a well deserved victory, something which doesn't happen all the time
Brilliant game | Jun 30, 2008 |
And being a Liverpudlian, I was of course ecstatic that Torres scored the goal Bravo España!

Excellent display of ability by Spain | Jun 30, 2008 |
My, these guys can run! Even our Lahm, the "Speedy Gonzales" of the German team, could not compete with that. Well-deserved victory for Spain, but the last eighty minutes were just agonizing to watch as a supporter of the German team. It had all started out so well... B

It´s only taken the Spanish team 44 years... | Jun 30, 2008 |
but I was more than impressed by the way they controlled the match. Every time I have watched them play at the World Cup I´ve thought: "they have no chance against the likes of Germany". Now, I´m looking forward to the next one, because this is a different team. And yes, Saint Iker Casillas is a player Spain can´t do without !

Iker Casillas is the man! My favourite goalkeeper. He didn't have to do much at all in the final though. I can't remember any shot that would have been difficult even for a mediocre goalie, let alone one of the best. Congrats to Spain, even though it's not the same without Raúl for me...

As someone who is totally disinterested in football (and a cunning Brit) I was surprised that we didn't see the following headline in the U.K. "EURO 2008: Liverpool striker manages to see off Chelsea midfielder's team." Perfectly true. But no: go for rugby, chaps, it's a man's game. Italy went for it, and they have given a good account of themselves. Cheers... We invented it and we lose with boring regularity. A fresh challenge in Europe? ▲ Collapse

Turkey was an eye-opener. I loved their game. "Flying St. Squirrel" is home and we're stuck with the traffic jam. It threatens to continue another day... They call Torres "el caballito". Now I know why: there was an angle from which he really looked as though he were morphing into a horse.

Hi all, After many failed attempts, I finally managed to convince my friends and we went to Switzerland and Austria for ten days and watched two live games, against Russia and Sweden. I can tell you I'll never regret it! The environment was great and the football, not only Spain's football, was a real pleasure to see at last! It's been great to feel the support Austrians have given us since the very beginning. They all wore the Spain t-shirt and sang the "in"-famous "Y viva España!". Although I'm Catalan and hate the song, I must admit I also sang it. Lol! As for rugby, we're rubbish. Former Liverpool player Michael Robinson has created a professional rugby league which hopefully is starting this Summer and which includes teams from Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar. I hope this is the beginning of something. Maybe in 20 years Spain will have another team-sport to cheer for! Carlos ▲ Collapse
