Now with the help of Lasik, I don´t use spectacles at all. But it occupational insurance is part of health insurance in Germany. Many countries may not have this facility. Best Brandis

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? Anyone in Puerto Rico or the U.S. have a policy?

I don´t have it in UK though, only in Germany, but as in my case the operation had costed almost 8000 Euro of which my insurance provider covered about 65% so the burden was not so much. Translators normally suffer under myopic trouble ( near vision) due to intense reading and processing documents those parts of the eye required for far-vision don´t get much exercise, which ultimately leads to having to wear glasses. For many years I used the normal health insurance, which was not ready to support my Lasik operation and cancelled my application on the grounds that it is a cosmetic operation, I didn´t know how to prove otherwise, until a very small Agency from Bremen approached me and assured that I can get the eyes done. I did it immediately and got my eyes done first thing.Best regards, Brandis
