BB: Why call for entry when there are plenty?

Just recently I subscribed to e-mail notification of call for entries in BB (I hadn't noticed before that this possibility existed) and I'm surprised to see that calls for entry are made for agencies which have already a lot of positive entries, even quite recent, in BB.

Why is that? (I take it for granted that it is "a person" sending the call, and not an automatic ProZ-procedure.)

Current information, I guess. Jan 4, 2006

Hello,

Why is that? (I take it for granted that it is "a person" sending the call, and not an automatic ProZ-procedure.)

Somebody has to call for entries, I think. The reason I can guess is that we need updated information: payment practices may chane depending on circumstances, change of staff, etc. etc., so when a project is posted, etc. people want to know whether they pay or not at that time, not maybe a year ago...

Calls possible once a month Jan 4, 2006

Hi Dinny,

Just recently I subscribed to e-mail notification of call for entries in BB (I hadn't noticed before that this possibility existed) and I'm surprised to see that calls for entry are made for agencies which have already a lot of positive entries, even quite recent, in BB.

Calls can be made by members once a month. Normally, Jobs / BB moderators trigger a call for entries whenever they notice, before vetting a job, for ex. that a record

- hasn't any recent entry

- has no entry at all

Why is that? (I take it for granted that it is "a person" sending the call, and not an automatic ProZ-procedure.)

Given that a call for entries cannot be made more than once a month, members may just want to make sure nothing has changed since the last entry was made.

Having updated information is important if not vital, as things can change or evolve quickly out of many reasons, positively and negatively, as we have seen quite often.
