Description Food industry is one of the main spheres of activity of humankind. In the modern world, it is of utmost importance and in many cases the activity of a food busines or project spreads across the borders of several different countries. It includes multiple diverse businesses from farming and food production to packaging, distribution, retail and catering that collectively supply food for the global population. A lot of research is also done in the area of food production and consumption with a strong emphasis on healthy food. For translators it is a vast source of translation job opportunities. In Part 2 we will focus on terminology issues related to food industry -General characteristics and specifics of formation of food terminology -Available terminology resources for translators -Compiling your own terminology database -Maintaining terminology consistency -Working on new terminology -Different style issues -Starting a new project -Good cooperation with the client Target audience This session can be interesting and useful to those who are making their first steps in translation for food industry but also to those who specialize in food transaltion but understand the value of learning from others' experience. You will learn how to approach new terminology when no translation is available.
