German term

Husarenattila

German to English Social Sciences Military / Defense Uniforms
From an auction catalogue of Old Master paintings. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture, nor do I have any further description. From what I have seen on the internet it seems to refer to the jacket of a Hussar's uniform of the time. Here is a picture of something similar: http://www.museum-digital.de/san/index.php?t=objekt&suinin=9...

My question is how does this differ from what might otherwise be called a Waffenrock or Husarenjacke (EN=dolman).

Here is my text:

Russische Schule um 1800
Porträt eines jungen Dandy in Husarenattila, Öl auf Leinwand

Any specialist help gratefully received from military historians out there.

Discussion

Helen Shiner (asker) Feb 21, 2011:
Thanks Johanna and Swiss Tell for your help. As explained I went for something else, perhaps more precise as I have to be for this kind of work. However, I am grateful for your time and assistance.
Helen Shiner (asker) Feb 21, 2011:
Attila From further researches, corroborated by Johanna's reference: the Attila design of tunic was a later development than the dolman style.

As to your email queston: no, it is not from a machine translation. As a translator, I do not believe in machine translations! It is from a web site, and since there are so many you can find under "Husarenattila" or "hussar attila", I leave it up to you to find confirmation there. You can also see illustrations of the jacket.
Note from asker:
Is your reference material the result of machine translation?
Just to clarify, I haven't sent you an e-mail - just added a note here. I am sure you don't use machine translation yourself, but I suspect the website might have done! Thanks, I already have an image and description in German - see my original posting. I have submitted this translation now and have settled on hussar's attila tunic (as opposed to the earlier dolman tunic). Thanks for trying to help.

Sorry, just saw that you have already a picture.. and a description...!and reference comments can't be hidden. Never mind then.
Note from asker:
Thank you, Johanna, I think from what I have found that the Attila style jacket/tunic was a later development than the dolman tunic.
No thanks, your reference helped.
