It appears that coefficients and diagrams are used to "check = verify, validate" (sprawdzać) the model. By its very nature, a model is theoretical and must be checked against data. Without the rest of the sentence, many meanings can be imputed to "kontrola." Test and verify/validate are not far from each other but have different nuances.
