Italiano term

Medicina Generale del Territorio

Da Italiano a Inglese Medico/Sanitario Medicina (generale)
How would you translate:

'Competente in Medicina Generale del Territorio'

Referring to a persons profession following their name.

Is it simply 'Local General Practitioner'?

OR a more literal translation and maybe more accurate:

'General Medicine of the Territory'

Any suggestions greatly appreciated :)

Discussion

philgoddard Mar 27:
JudyC's comment on my answer, and Arabella's next question, suggest that the letter is an ethics committee opinion on a clinical trial.
Arabella Itani (asker) Mar 27:
Hi Lara, it's from a letter.
Lara Barnett Mar 27:
@ Arabella Is this from a letter, or a hospital report, or a CV....?
Lara Barnett Mar 27:
"of the territory" This is nowhere near accurate in English.

Or community health.

Competente in = specialist in.
Note from asker:
Thanks Phil and Judy. This clarified it perfectly for me.
Peer comment(s):

agree JudyC : I'd use "expert" for "competente", which I've only found in a list of members of the "Comitato Etico Territoriale Lombardia 5" Community/Health District Ethics Committee //the idea is that he is on the Committee because he has expertise in family medicine

Thanks for agreeing - but I think 'expert' is used differently to 'esperto' and I'm not sure it would fit here.

Italiano term (edited): competente in Medicina Generale del Territorio

qualified in Community Healthcare

That phrase is already in the ProZ glossarie, but I am going claim the 'competente in' part as my qualified vs. expert own.
Example sentence:

Community health workers are citizens who work for pay or as volunteers to support the local health care system.
