The use of browser tricks in an effort to keep a visitor captive at a site, often by disabling the "Back" button or generated repeated pop-up windows.

Per prevenire e risolvere il "mouse trapping" sarebbe consigliabile disattivare l'utilizzo dei Java Script, anche se ciò può creare alcuni problemi di visualizzazione in alcune pagine Web.

Metodo utilizzato dai cosiddetti "page-jacker" per reindirizzare gli utenti su un sito web fantasma, dal quale non riescono ad uscire usando il pulsante Indietro, perché ad ogni tentativo di uscita si apre una nuova finestra.
