French term
relevé de prix
French to English
Marketing
Retail
Hello,
The context is someone going round a shop and noting down all competitor's prices for products. The way it is used in the sentence is something along the lines of "you should carry out a 'relevé de prix' once a month on three competing brands". I was thinking of using "price survey" but just wanted to know if anyone has a more precise term for this?
Thanks for any help!

price spot check
This is an on site, "clipboard in hand" operation. I would include "spot" to make that perfectly clear.

price survey
You said it yourself, and personally I can't think of a better alternative. While the term is arguably ambiguous – "survey" might imply asking respondents for information, which is not the case here – the context appears to make it sufficiently clear what kind of survey this is.

: Survey of prices - not a questionnaire, not a comparison. He just writes down the prices.

price comparison
I believe this would work in the context.

Or how about combining the two and calling it a 'price comparison survey' ?
