German term

25 Jahre mit Opel gut gefahren

German to English Marketing Advertising / Public Relations Broschüre

Discussion

danilingua (asker) Dec 13, 2007:
Hi Francis and colleagues first of all, thank you for your input.

Any response to my 3rd question?
Francis Lee (X) Dec 10, 2007:
"when time is running" meaning what??? Perhaps you were thinking: "wenn die Zeit läuft"?? Hmmm ...
Stephen Sadie Dec 10, 2007:
Is this just about a company using Opels as their fleet of vehicles or a company which actually corroborates with Opel? Or supplies Opel?
danilingua (asker) Dec 10, 2007:
bitte nicht hauen ;-) sorry, this is what happens when time is running... here is the text section:

Ingeborg Gowans (X) Dec 10, 2007:
w/ Francis: I find this rather confusing, too. First I was thinking it is an advertisement for Opel; this obviously is not the case. Please give more context
Francis Lee (X) Dec 10, 2007:
So the phrase appears on its own with no further context? How would you personally explain the potential double-meaning of "gut gefahren"? And who/what is supposed to be the Publikumsjoker here??
danilingua (asker) Dec 10, 2007:
Francis so sorry, no, it is not for Opel. A company manufacturing enamel products. I guess Opel is a customer. Idea: it is like the "Publikumsjoker", I just did not want to distract ;-). I had sth with navigation
Francis Lee (X) Dec 10, 2007:
Is this e.g. an Opel brochure for car-buyers or e.g. written by a company about their partnership with Opel? The context is crucial!
Francis Lee (X) Dec 10, 2007:
General context. Readership/purpose of the translation? Why be shy? If you do have ideas of your own, surely it'd make sense to post them here ...

25 years of successful cooperation with Opel/ 25 years of success for Opel.

May be, it is "25 years of successful cooperation with Opel" or 25 years of success for Opel.
