Greetings,

Please see
http://www.zeit.de/1985/50/Tonnen-von-Gift-in-der-Tongrube?p...

Toxic Barrels

agree Barbara Wiebking : Yes, or barrels of poison.

agree Armorel Young : in other words it's a typo for Giftfässer

neutral Ulrike Kraemer : strictly speaking, the barrels themselves aren't toxic ... // the Fässer themselves aren't giftig (their content is), and the German term is "Giftfässer", not "giftige Fässer" - that's a big difference

is that supposed to be a joke? Cause if you're serious you'd need to say as well that the faesser aren't giftig

toxic waste barrels

Toxic barrels is fine, but I'd include *waste* as more specific and technically correct.
Example sentence:

Black Sea Toxic Waste Barrels Removed After 18 Years

Toxic Waste Barrels Found Buried at Dump
