German term

symbolische Namen

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers (general) Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM)
Context:

"ShowVerboseTablenames
Haken Sie das Optionsfeld an und wählen Sie „true“ aus dem Listenfeld, wenn symbolische Namen für die Tabelle benutzt werden sollen."

I'm pretty sure this should not be "symbolic names", but should it be 'verbose names'? Or does it mean 'meaningful names' as opposed to cryptic names?

I've never really figured out how to pronounce it - just spelling it is hard enough!
Note from asker:
Thanks! Now that's a tongue twister (or a finger twister) at this time of the morning, eh?
