German term

auf Grund der Bedürfnisse, denen wir täglich im Umgang mit Kunden und Interessenten begegnen, optimi

German to English Marketing Computers (general) videoconferencing
Can someone help me unravel the second part of this sentence. I keep getting my brain twisted between the commas....

An diesem Sortiment haben wir während den letzten Jahren permanent gearbeitet *****und auf Grund der Bedürfnisse, denen wir täglich im Umgang mit Kunden und Interessenten begegnen, optimiert*****.

we have.. customers and prospective customer,
we have... the daily interaction with them,
we have... the needs that we are confronted with
aand ... we have the range of products, that has been optimized on the basis of the above

what a beautiful construction....

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

begegnen = encounter, yet "encounter needs" is probably as rare as "Bedürfnissen begegnen" in German (i.e. discover needs, become aware of needs, etc.)
Peer comment(s):

agree Heidi Stone-Schaller : yes, the point about becoming aware of these needs needs a little more emphasis in English than in German

German term (edited): help with second part of sentence

A suggestion

The company sees the customers' and prospects' needs in their daily contact/interaction with them, and they have based the optimization of their product range on those needs.

Maybe s.th. like
Over the past few years, we have been working continuously on our product range. Based on our interaction with current and potential customers, we know what their needs are, and we have taken care to tailor [optimize] our product offerings to meet those needs.

I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a more elegant phrase... :-)
