Discussion

CMJ_Trans (X) Oct 19, 2004:
it would be dishonest to grab points after others have started the job
Non-ProZ.com Oct 19, 2004:
ok thank you but if you write it here, how should I give you the points? ;-)
CMJ_Trans (X) Oct 19, 2004:
so iut's simply I'm practising my sitting/pointing - the dog is "speaking"
Non-ProZ.com Oct 19, 2004:
in this case a short-haired pointer, but the text is about long- and short-haired pointers
Cilian O'Tuama Oct 19, 2004:
is it a setter or a pointer, long- or short-haired? (tedious)
Christine Lam Oct 19, 2004:
A Viszla is definitely a type of "Vorstehhund"
Non-ProZ.com Oct 19, 2004:
sorry I just have pictures, unfortunately no context in this case, anyway it can be a Vorstehhund
Cilian O'Tuama Oct 19, 2004:
is it a Vorstehhund, by any chance? Context please.

Pointing

As far as I remember, though my dog-breeding days are some time in the past, the Hungarian Viszla is a working dog of similar attributes to the Pointer which we all know. They are so called because when they get wind of game, they stand and "point" in its direction. Hence, I think the word you need is "pointing" - "hey, look, I'm practising pointing already...."

agree Derek Gill Franßen : Yes, but how would you translate: "Ich bringe den Müll schon mal runter, dann können wir gehen."?
