German term

3-Backen-Einlage

German to English Medical Medical: Instruments Orthopaedic shoes
Hello!
The context of this term is orthopedic shoe insoles. This type of insole is described as "classic" or "traditional". I have seen "jaws" used in English for "Backen", but that does not seem appropriate in this context.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

featuring three flanges

Thanks to the picture provided by Barbara in her reference, I found “flange” (e.g. lateral flange, medial flange, heel cup)

Medial Flange
An increase in the height of the orthosis on the medial side of the device starting just distal to the heel and extending to the distal edge with the apex near the navicular. The height of the flange area of the medial arch varies with the foot shape. This modification also makes the orthosis slightly wider at the area of the medial arch.

Picture + description of "Drei-Backeneinlagen"
