Another of the terms (initiator) are also in English and in the context that seems to be suggested, "asset manager" would be my first choice followed by "asset consultant"

Yes, "asset manager is the choice in this case (about 100,000 google hits) - see for example:

Both "initiator" and "originator" are commonly used in such contexts in English, the choice between them seems to depend more on company and branch than on context

Thanks, but I want to know if there is a specific term used when discussing ship charters. I think the English term is originator and not initiator.
