Japanese term
実施主体
Japanese to English
Other
Other
term for the organizing body of an event
Can anyone please help with the appropriate English equivalent for 実施主体? In this particular case, it is the title for the founder and organizer of an event.
Literally 実施主体 is something like "executing body" or "implementation entity," but is there a generally accepted term?
One often sees it followed by 主催 (organizer), 共催 (co-organizer), etc.
Thanks for your input!

Its literal translation must be "executing body" or "implementation body", but I am afraid that there is no appropriate equivalent English. Therefore, it must be better not to translate it literally. For example, if you translate "そのイベントの実施主体は市です", you should say, "The event is organised by the municipality", "The municipality organises the event", or "The municipality is responsible for the event", rather than saying, "The executing body for the event is the municipality".

Thank you, cinefil-san. In the case of the document you referenced, wouldn't the meaning of responsible organization be closer to something like "責任ある組織"? |
