Hello!
As a young graduate in translation and CI, I would like to get a membership on proz in order to find new opportunities.
However, I am not officially a freelancer in Belgium yet (no VTA number) - can I still find job opportunities on Proz? How does the payment work if you're not a freelancer? And for taxes?
Thank you for any information!

But ProZ.com doesn't intervene in payments, tax or social security issues - they're all left up to us.

So the question is: can you issue a legal invoice in Belgium without registering as a freelancer and/or registering for VAT? I do know that for the UK it's no+no, for Spain it's yes+yes and for France it's yes+no. But I don't know about Belgium. Remember that as a freelancer you'll probably want to work with clients outside Belgium and then it becomes crucial that everything is done right. If you can't find the answer on the site you should ask locally (Chamber of Commerce?).
