Spanish term

lama

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing Spain // tile/flooring
The term obviously does not refer to Tibetan Buddhist leaders in this context....

Here are two sentences in which the term appears:

Llevara cada lama de suelo ACME el underlay incorporado?

Debido a la versatilidad del diseno YYY y la posibilidad de poder conseguir hasta 5 disenos a traves de una unica lama, que porcentaje de desperdicios hemos calculado que supone la instalacion de dicho diseno?

Thank you.

strip

This came up last month - slat I think was the option chosen. But here (based on it being horizontal rather than vertical??), strip is better to my mind.

I now see why you didn´t find it in the glossary - it was entered as lamas. (Please take care, glossary inputters!).

plank

The words 'tile' or 'board' could also be used, but 'plank' seems to be more commonly used when referring to laminate flooring.
Example sentence:

Laminate flooring is a plank type floor, constructed of different layers. Usually, the top layer or "wear layer" is clear. It is a low or high density laminate, depending on the manufacturer and style -- similar to a counter top laminate.

If you have a damaged plank, you simply uninstall the floor up to that point, replace the plank and reinstall the floor.
