royal droving right of way
Droving: moving livestock between seasonal pasturage areas.
Don't know of any shorter way to say it. Rights of way crisscross the UK for a variety of different "passers-through": for access or for recreation. This would fall into the first category but I've never come across a specific term.

: I like Noni's option as it covers all livestock and "right of way" sounds great.

: or "livestock migration route" (lots of g-hits!) but that doesn't make it any shorter. But if it is a proper name (upper case inits) then of course it shouldn't be translated at all! The context gives both upper and lower case, so we don't know...

Yes, I'm inclined to recommend leaving it as it is! Mine is definitely too wordy, except possibly as explanation.

Creo que el texto se refiere a un sitio geográfico cuyo nombre propio es "cañada real" por lo tanto yo lo dejaría en su idioma original. De todas formas te envío la traducción del nombre por si lo considerás necesario.
Example sentence:
The Royal Hollow is a beautifull spot

Droveway; Drove road
There is a long tradition of herding cattle between England and Scotland. The main route ways usually led over the upland area of the Cheviots. Some of these routes, such as Ermspeth, have Anglo-Saxon names suggesting that they have been in use for over 1000 years. They are often cut by large cross-dykes, which help control the passage of the herds. The movement of cattle along these routes died out in the post-medieval period.

I know what you mean -I too have walked along many of them- but I've always heard them referred to as drove roads in English -a Spanish friend of mine did his PhD on the cañadas & it was always translated that way:-)

Thanks for explaining! Still, this is a "vía pecuaria" or cattle trail, in a rural area. Also, "ravine" goes rather nicely together with "royal".

"Our walk today will take you past woodlands clothed in Pines, Poplars, Holm Oaks and Gall Oaks. Fill your lungs with the clean air, due to the lack of heavy industries in the province. Wild herbs scent your pathway and during autumn the ground comes alive with wild mushrooms. Our circular walk ends in the small rural village of Cubo de la Solana, which lies near the ‘Cañada Real’, one of the pastoral routes that criss cross Spain. "

Cañada Real [Don't translate it]
Assuming that it's the proper name of the road, since it's capitalized, it SHOULD NOT BE TRANSLATED.

Also, your context explains what it is - there is no reason at all to translate it.
