The following appears in a discharge summary for a patient with suspected TIA in Extremadura:
Ingreso en [redacted] por ictus isquémico subagudo en región medial occipital, con ASPECTS:9, evidenciando en TC y área extensa de penumbra isquémica en lóbulo occipital izquierdo sin signos de isquemia establecida en TC de perfusión y Angiotac que reveló Stop en segmento P3 de ACP izquierda en probable relación con trombo agudo, así como flujo filiforme en AV izquierda en toda su extensión.
Can anyone advise me what "AV izquierda" is intended to indicate in the above? I have considered "left ventricular artery", but that seems unusual.

En la angiorresonancia pudimos caracterizar aún más la lesión identificándola como una dilatación aneurismática en territorio de arteria vertebral izquierda (AV).
Decidimos realizar una Angiografía Digital (AD) de vasos craneales [Figuras [Figuras33 and and4]4] a fin de conocer las posibles ramas afectadas y la posibilidad de tratamiento endovascular o quirúrgico. En la misma se puede observar la presencia de flujo a través de ambas arterias comunicantes posteriores. Arteria vertebral derecha es significativamente menor que la vertebral izquierda asumiendo que la arteria dominante es la izquierda. La inyección de la arteria vertebral derecha muestra tinción en ambas arterias cerebrales posteriores y cerebelosas superiores. Aneurisma de la AV izquierda gigante con flujo presente. También podemos observar el origen de la Arteria Cerebelosa Postero Inferior (ACPI) proximal e independiente del saco aneurismático.
