I would like to know the best translation of this phrase from European Spanish into American English.
Colleagues from Latin America, feel free to send me your suggestions as well. This is from the Spanish Song "Recuérdame" from Camilo Sesto.
Is okay to translate it as remember me as when the sun doesn't come out for you any longer?

: A less wordy version that keeps the sense of "ya no salga" might be "when the sun ceases to rise for you." It's formalized language, but that can work really lovely in song lyrics.
