#atodamáquina

Spanish to English Marketing Marketing / Market Research Hashtag
Hi, I wasn't sure under which field to classify my question, which is a marketing campaign hashtag referring to environmental sustainability.

The end client sells food & drink vending machines and the hashtag is a play on words: both in the sense of the usual meaning of "a toda máquina", i,.e., at full speed, flat out, full steam ahead... and also in the sense that every machine it sells complies with environmental sustainability standards (recyclable packaging, cups, stirrers etc..)

Any ideas how to reproduce the play on words in English?

Thanks in advance

@David Hasting and all answerers To be honest, I don't really see any play on words here. In my opinion "a toda máquina" only means "at full speed". I don't know how you arrived at the other meaning of "in full compliance with environmental standards" or "using green energy."

#atfullgreenpower

Another possible option.

By the way, although the Spanish expression "a toda máquina" does mean "at full speed", "full steam ahead", etc., as far as I know, it has nothing to do with being green and, as such, I really do not think it will convey the desired message.

Following Phil's comment, maybe you could change the word order and say something like "#greenatfullpower". Or do a more literal translation and just say "#atfullpower".

neutral philgoddard : I don't think you can reproduce the wordplay, and "green power" is misleading because it implies renewable energy. You have to write something new from scratch and forget the idea of full power.

Yes, I can see how "green power" can be misleading if interpreted literally!

#everymachinegoingfullsteam

Just a suggestion to get the ball rolling. Can't think of a play on words but maybe a rhyme would do the trick?

#greenmachines

This is poetic licence, because strictly speaking it's the consumables that are greener, not the machines. But using things like recyclable cups reduces their environmental impact.

I had the benefit of reading others' suggestions first, but this seems to be another alternative, if you're interested in another alternative.

#everymachinegreen

In lieu of being able to reproduce both aspects of the play on words, I wonder if the feeling of "full steam ahead" can be conveyed by rhythmic assonance and/or rhyming (as Danielle points out), and the sense that the initiative applies to every machine can be conveyed more directly.

This could also be #everymachinegreened, with "green" as a verb. See reference.

Just some more ideas to add to the mix.

I'm not very good at translating plays on words, so I'll put my suggestion here. I apologise if someone complains.
