: I'm not sure about this, and you haven't given any Spanish references. Couldn't it be an oven, perhaps for spraying? Doesn't a furnace imply molten metal?

: A furnace seems fairly likely. There was definitely one in at least one famous car factory in Mexico (I have relatives with some terrible stories from working there in the 80s, including a spilt crucible!)
