English term

Legacy scheme share based payments

English to Japanese Bus/Financial Accounting financial statements
This is an item which I found in a financial statement. I suppose 'share based payments' is 株式報酬費, but I don't understand legacy scheme. I would appreciate it very much if you would propose your translation.

Legacy scheme

I have never heard of 'legacy scheme share based payments.' It may possibly mean share based payments that is designed to benefit people who have interest for years in the company. For example, long-term employees, and even including retirees, who are paid stock options as compensation for their labor, and as a pension.

I would translate it as レガシースキーム株式報酬, then.

I wonder if legacy scheme and share based payments are two separate things. If they are, legacy scheme might be similar to legacy costs: the costs involved with a company paying increased healthcare fees and other benefit-related costs for its current employees and retired pensioners.

Need additional information regarding the phrase.
