English term

as in the number of vessels as in its length

English Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) horses
The retinal vessels located nasal and temporal to the optic disc are perfectly visible. Ventral to the optic disc, there is an important reduction of retinal vascularisation as in the number of vessels as in its length.

do they mean that there is also an important reduction in the number of vessels and in the vessel length??
thanks

Hi, Elena; have a great and happy weekend!
agree Janet Ratziu : It seems this is the meaning. I wonder if the word important is used in the right context here however; do they mean "large" reduction...?

i'd say "significant" instead of "important"; multumesc, Janet
agree Alfredo Tutino : if Spanish medical language is anywhere near Italian, I'd also say Janet's right

Kiitos, Marju.
disagree Cilian O'Tuama : without going into the context, as it stands the "its" refers to the vascularisation, not to the vessels (or their length)

Which is the same, by the way: vasculum, in Latin, means LITTLE VESSEL. Just look up VASCULUM in your favorite Webster's dictionary.
