English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
As we saw in the previous chapter, the BPO can be viable growth market.

What is the full form of BPO. Thanks.

Discussion

Robert Donahue (X) May 6, 2005:
In that case then both Deborah AND Dusty could be correct. Business process outsourcing (to BOP's) can be a viable growth market.
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
typo:I have already mentioned that the *text* contains
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
of BPO
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
I have already mentioned that the contains both these abbreviations - BPO & BOP. In fact, I am seeking help in respect.
Robert Donahue (X) May 6, 2005:
I just want to doublecheck, do you mean BPO or BOP? BPO is what Deborah suggested, BOP is Bottom of the Pyramid. I only ask because this is similar to a previous question from you. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1011761 Yes? No?
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
Thanks Dusty for a variant. In fact, the text context contains both - BPO & BOP
Deborah do Carmo May 6, 2005:
Synonymous here - both thus correct - you'll find examples written both ways
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
Of course, I meant "multination*al*" above.
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
Does MNC stand for multinational companies or multination corporation? Thanks
Deborah do Carmo May 6, 2005:
OK, then the answer stands and of course MNC is a Multinational Corporation. Good luck.
Non-ProZ.com May 6, 2005:
Thanks Deborah for your input. Here is further context: As we saw in the previous chapter, the BPO can be viable growth market. During the last decade, many MNC's have approached BOP markets with an existing portfolio of products and services. Because markets, they are often out of reach for potential customers in BPO markets.
Deborah do Carmo May 6, 2005:
Please provide more context

business process outsourcing

With Ocwen as your outsourcing partner, you can approach Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) with confidence to achieve far more than just cost savings. Ocwen helps you leverage the advantages of outsourcing to meet strategic business objectives and secure a stronger market position. The BPO market is growing, but not as fast as expected.
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is still the top growth market for IT services, but several factors - the economy, the BPO adoption curve, and the technology innovation downturn - have slowed its growth. BPO is driving growth in system integration and IT services. Every single BPO engagement includes sub-components of IT consulting, application development, IT outsourcing, and process management.

English term (edited): bpo [or is it BOP, as you've written above?]

Bottom of Pyramid

This one came up just the other day, and I feel sure that your BPO might only be a typo, especially as you yourself have also written it as BOP in your added comments.

Seems to make a lot of sense vis-à-vis MNCs, and is almost exactly the same context as we had the other day.
Peer comment(s):

agree Robert Donahue (X) : Came up from the same Asker :-P MNC's and BOP's as I recall.

Thanks, Robert! I had a feeling that was the case... ;-) Looks as if it might be quite important to sort out the difference!!!
neutral Balasubramaniam L. : BOP stands for back office processing.

Thanks! I think you're unwise to be so dogmatic, since we know for sure that it can ALSO stand for 'Bottom of Pyramid' --- and I'm sure many other things besides!
