Scotch whisky
What does it mean in this context?
from a review about a scotch whisky:
"Each day I have some 6,000 whiskies to choose from for a social dram if I want one. And at least once a week I will sample a xxxx. While the single malt revolution continues unabated, it is a shame that whisky lovers do not use this as a yardstick. They will find that very few malts can match this for complexity… This is the Savoy, the Everest of deluxe whiskies: there is not a blender who would not give their right arm – or even their left one – for the recipe of this supreme whisky. The trouble is, even if they had it, they would then struggle to *****find the stock*****. It represents probably the best value for money of any whisky in the world."
Many thanks in advance

unblended whisky, used for producing well-known blends
You are talking about Scotch whisky. The famous whiskys are blended, according to secret, strict recipes. Some of the whiskys in the blend are produced in small quantities by small distilleries, supplying their produce for blending to a few choice customers.
The blending may involve a number of these whiskies, and they are not "advertising" themselves. Also, some of these whiskies are old, kept for a number of years before being used for blending. So even if the recipe came to light, to track down these ingredients would be quite a challenge, if not impossible.

I understand this to mean that, even if they had the recipe, they would have trouble finding all the, presumably high-value, rare, ingredients called out in the recipe.
