English term
strengthened
English
Other
Energy / Power Generation
The principle is simple: sunshine is 'strengthened' by mirror which diverts it to absorbing equipment filled with liquid. This liquid will become hot and produce steam which generates turbo-generator.
Does 'stengthened' work? (it tells about converting the sunshine into energy)

: yes, only "sunlight" can be concentrated as you note. jccantrell's suggestion would work too

: The whole sentence is a bit diffuse. I would recommend something like "a mirror concentrates sunlight on an absorbing element...{.

I agree that the sentence as a whole is "diffuse". :-) Actually, the entire process with the correct words correctly used is available in several of the links under the Google search I posted, so Asker should be able to tighten up the language/lingo.

. . is what I would write.
Not in the sense of the word as used in physics, by as in everyday language of "making more ample."

sunshine is directed to absorbing equipment by a mirror
A concave mirror could "focus" or "concentrate" sunshine but the sentence suggests it simply diverts.
The mirror does not add energy, so it does not truly strengthen or amplify.

intensified
another possibility...
but it's common to say so, e.g., "When a mirror is held up, the light is reflected and is also intensified"
in: http://www.nwrel.org/ecc/americorps/symposiums/1997/other/le...
although the context is much simpler, the idea is the same, i think.
