Book time in

English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Book time in
Get ready to have an open and honest conversation.
You could plan for this as part of a team meeting.
Be ready to discuss your ideas and be open to what your team thinks.
Book time in sooner rather than later; it’s important that your team members feel their views are valued and that you want to take action.
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Yvonne Gallagher, Tony M

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

agree Tony M : Yes, but the essence is to schedule it early on, i.e. with plenty of advance notice, so people can be sure they can participate.

(ensure you) make time for

another way of saying this

It can actually be part of an existing team meeting so doesn't have to be booked or scheduled separately.

Just means that you set some time aside/reserve time to "have an open and honest conversation" with your team
I think this matches the register of "book time in" better
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I don't agree: I think this means you need to give plenty of advance warning of the meeting, so everyone can be there.Doesn't preclude the team meeting's being scheduled well ahead, as it need to include this as well.

it says : "You could plan for this as part of a team meeting" so yes, the meeting can be scheduled but you need to put time aside for this as AOB//I never said it did. //It doesn't have to be on official agenda, just manager making a mental note
agree katsy : I agree ; imo and fwiw the need for advance notice is in the following phrase "sooner rather than later"
