...that basically outlines the different tasks for the employees, providing them with the specifics of what needs to be done and in what order. At least that's how I interpret it.

I used these terms because the first part of the sentence is followed by "since your employee is unclear about what he needs to do." (This way, at least there is a "framework" (structure) or a "frame of reference" (structure) that the person can follow or adhere to.)
