English term

bland brand

English Marketing Marketing / Market Research
In a world of bland brands and
corporate conformity, the Xxx Hotel
Group offers something increasingly
rare: five of the world’s great hotels,
each one of them as individual as their
guests and as distinctive as the cities in
which they play such glittering roles.

Bland brands

are products which are unexciting, very similar to one another, have nothing to make them stand out from the crowd etc...
"bland" means, in a culinary context, "not spicy", "lacking in taste" - metaphoricall it means "safe", "unadventurous" etc.

So here they're saying the XXX Hotel Group offers something refreshingly different from its competitors - the hotels are "individual", whereas the competitors' hotels are "samey" and indistinguishable form one another.

boring trademark

Bland means without flavor, nothing distinctive. A bland brand in hotels would mean a hotel that looks the same as all the others, nothing exceptional, very ordinary. You wouldn't know one hotel from another, they all look the same, have the same room layout, the same decoration, the same size, the same bathrooms...
