general accessory terminal
a car has a direct current system, a negative chassis, with the positive side being connected via the appropriate switches. The ignition switch (traditionally in the right-hand the side of the steering column0 provides the positive connection to various assessories or the swtiches that control them, e.g. lights, windscreen wipers, cigarette lighter, heater fan, etc.

spot where accessories are installed on/near the switch
There is a place to put accessories (secondary helping components)on or near the ignition switch.

accessory side
The ignition switch doesn'tonly switch on the ignition, it also switches on various accessories (pumps, dashboard display etc.) Presumably these are grouped at one side of the switch, with the actual ignition switch itself on the other.

: Just pipped me again Jack, though I did take extra time to give more electrifying answer (;-{)>//Spent all day - not at 'ome - musing "resist, or directly respond, or alternate signal in revolting fit of peak with spike to shock you?";-)

Thank you. I didn't realise I had sparked off a race, but Ohm-I goodness, your current answering rate still has the potential to shock.

: To be honest, Jack, it's nothing to do with 'grouping on one side', it's more to do with the 'before or after side' of the switch; the use of the word 'side' here is to be deprecated
