Lysosomes are intracellular organelles that contain certain enzymes that speed up the breakdown of a class of fatty substances known as
phospholipids. Those enzymes are known as "lysosomal phospholipases", which is the term in quiestion:

**Phospholipase activity in the lysosome** of the protozoan Tetrahymena pyriformis strain NT-1 was sstudied using phospholipids radioactively labeled in the fatty acid moieties. Lysosomal homogenates showed high phospholipase activity with an acidic pH optimum. Unlike the phospholipases in rat liver lysosomes, almost all activity was recovered from the membranous fraction of the lysosomes.

weird names
fosfolipidolitico as well as phospholipidolitic represent a *very* rare and uncommon way to define fosfolipasi/phospholipases

A polymerizable electrolyte, 2-aminoethyl 1,6-heptadien-4-yl phosphate (AEHDP), which has the same hydrophilic head group as naturally occurring phospholipids, was prepared. Five equivalents of AEHDP were added to a suspension of liposomes (closed bilayer vesicles made of phospholipids) and layered on the liposomes. After polymerization by UV irradiation, the resulting polymer-coated liposomes were resistant to hydrolysis of their constituent phospholipids by phospholipase A2.

{Detection of phospholipidolytic Candida albicans isolated from saliva of children with Down's syndrome}; Ribeiro EL et al.; The childhood is one of the most propitious period of the life to the occurrence of infection by yeasts of the genus Candida . In children with Down's syndrome, besides the predispose factors to bucal candidiasis; macroglossia, bucal muscular incompetence, frequent respiratory diseases, motor difficulty and immunologic deficit are mentioned as additional elements for this fungus disease . It was verified that the children attacked by this syndrome have much more strains of Candida than other children . The aim of this study was to detect the prevalence of phospholipase producer, Candida on the saliva of children with Down's syndrome . Candida albicans was the only identified specie of Candida . The phospholipase production was found in isolated strains from both of study and control .
