Russian term

самолёты АН

Antonov aircraft

Surely it refers to aircraft designed in the ANtonov Design Bureau

agree Anton Konashenok : Actually, Russian aircraft are usually designated in English with full names (Antonov, Tupolev, etc. rather than An and Tu)

The only Russian/Soviet aircraft I've seen referred to by initials in Englis is MiG (and usually as all capital letters)

agree kfpdavis : actually the military (i.e. US military) refers to Antonov (and other) aircraft by designations such as An-12, An-22, An-32. etc.

I think, though, that the Antonov "family" of aircraft is referred to by the designer's surname

AN-family(series) aircraft

If you're dead set on keeping the abbreviation; otherwise, the previous entry is OK
